Dog Days of Summer

July 2013 was a very special month at the Artists Guild Gallery of Greenville, 200 N. Main St. Greenville , SC. Having been given the opportunity to present my work in a one-woman show, I decided to combine two of my loves...Painting being one and the world of dog training being  the other !  I decided to create works which explored the many different relationships between canines and their people. In conjunction with the show I approached Foothills Search and Rescue, a volunteer organization which assists law enforcement in the location of missing persons  with the aid of highly trained dogs, about using the show as a fundraiser for this great organization.  I was also contacted by The American Kennel Club which asked if they could participate as part of the event by way of presenting a $3000 Grant to Foothills Search and Rescue. It was a great day complete with wonderful raffles, vendors, Search and Rescue Dogs, Greenville County k-9 Unit and, most important  raised a good sum of money for these dedicated folks. We had a huge turnout which included local media coverage.
